Erupting volcano by Quinn, and art attack

Hi Miss Hart,

This is our science project we have been working on. The video of the lava is too big to send. We used sand to make the volcano and vinegar, food coloring and baking soda to make the lava.

This is my art. I got one tube and cut it and coloured it in and then put them on my wrists.

Welcome back to school Miss Hart, I hope you enjoy these photos.

From Quinn.

  1. Kia Ora Quinn,

it looks like you had a lot of fun doing the science project with your brother. A tasty baking soda experiment is to make hokey pokey, it uses the same process as the volcano by combining two chemicals to make a new product by releasing gas. I like your art project, you put a lot of effort into the detail and the colouring. I am glad you had a great holiday break.

What are you looking forward to learning in term 2?

  2. Hi Quinn,

I bet your volcano experiment was exciting! Did you use red food colouring for the lava? I like Miss Hart's suggestion about making hokey pokey, I remember doing that when I was young, you just have to be careful not to burn it. I love your art project, you look like a superhero. I wonder what other accessories you could design?
