Beauty and the Beast play

We have been learning to use our expression in our voices when reading by focusing on plays. Here is an example of our first try last week.

Things we are taking into thought for this week's second round:

1. To make sure you face the audience
2. To speak clearly and slowly
3. To listen well to be a good audience
4. To move around the stage
5. To change scenes/props quickly

We look forward to presenting our second plays on Friday!

Learning about the Cathedral

We have been learning about our Catholic Cathedral called The Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. In the earthquake, a statue of Mary was on top of the cathedral when the earthquake happened and she turned to face the school. I learned that Bishop Paul Martin had the choice to demolish the cathedral and he did because it had cracks in the ceiling and it was dangerous. We really enjoyed finding facts about the cathedral.

Do you know anything about the Cathedral?

Check out our slides below to see the drawings of the cathedral.

Room 8 Duffy celebration

Last week we celebrated with a book day. We were able to dress up as our favourite book character and hear a message from a local author. It was fun to celebrate with a parade, getting books and a rotation that celebrated reading.

Reward Day Fun!

In Room 9 we achieved our class goal of 900 points on class dojo. We chose to have a pyjama and toy day to celebrate our positive behaviour.
