This afternoon in Room 9 for sharing time, Reid bought in his guitar. Reid was able to teach us all about the strings, their names, and the different sounds they make. We were also lucky enough to have him play some songs he has been learning to us.
Here are some other facts we found out:
- When Reid played each cord the tune changed from high to light from the top to bottom cords.
- That the sheets of music look hard to read.
- He used the same 3 fingers to change cords.
- 1, 2 and 3 numbers on the music sheet represented which finger to use.
- There are six strings on the guitar.
Kia ora Reid and Room 9,
ReplyDeleteSome of us learned from reading your post. We didn't know that a guitar had six strings or that you use the same 3 fingers to change cords. Who taught you to play the guitar and which song did you play for Room 9?
From Room 10
Hello Room 10,
ReplyDeleteThank you for commenting on our post. Reid says that he learnt from someone at a holiday programme here in Christchurch. He played Happy birthday, seven nation army and plenty more that we can't remember the names of.
