Kia ora and welcome to our blog. We are a wonderful group of Year 3/4 students at a small Catholic School near the beach in Ōtautahi, Christchurch. We have two great teachers called Miss Hart and Miss Esselink. We hope you enjoy reading all about our learning.

Talk to type tool
In Room 9 for writing, we have been learning to use the talk to type tool on google docs. We have been using it to publish our stories. Here are some ways which it has helped our learning:
- To use and know our punctuation because we have to read out what it is for it to type for example to get a full stop we have to say "full stop".
- To speak clearly and slowly when presenting.
- To re-read over our work to spot any mistakes or to add detail.
- To group our ideas using paragraphing.

Best Reward Ever!
Today we got to make forts out of blankets and have a pyjama day. We had this special day because we earned a reward by listening, finishing our work, focusing on our work, sitting on the mat, and earning dojo points by being in the right place at the right time.
It was amazing to do our learning in our forts. We used our blankets, desks and chairs to make forts, some of us combined our blankets together to create a mega fort.
How do you celebrate in your class?
